About Department

The department of Electronics has grown up tremendously over the last few years. The ECE Deptt is running B Tech and M Tech courses. New laboratories are being added up every year to improve our capacity and capabilities to carry out new projects and experiments.
Applied Research is our prime focus. Development and growth of faculty is given special attention. Faculty is encouraged and sponsored for higher studies and sent for participation in seminar. Faculty is also engaged in organizing AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme at JIET UNIVERSE. The turnover of Faculty is minimal and majority of them are with masters degrees. The training and project work by the students are the major thrust areas. Concerted effort is made to find out the suitable industry for the purpose of training. Students are encouraged to take up project with greater applications in the field. The focus has been to synergize the project work and the industrial training. The students are taken on industrial visits to various industries. The department has fully equipped laboratories with the state of the art equipment.

Dr. Hemant Purohit has teaching experience of more than 11 years and has completed his Ph.D on the topic “Investigation of Efficient Data Interleaving Technique in Voice and Data Communication in Band- limited Environment and Its implementation in Mobile Communication for Channel Utilization Enhancement and Energy Optimization” under the guidance of Professor (Dr.) K.L. Sharma, from MBM Engineering College, Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur on 15 January 2015. He has guided a number of research scholars for M.Tech Dissertation and Seminar in fields like Digital Communication, Optical Communication, Wireless and Mobile Communication. He is associated with JIET GROUP of Institutions from last 9 years. He has published 12 papers in International Journals and 11 Papers in both International and National Conferences. He has recently presented his research paper in an IEEE International Conference (EMS 2015) at Madrid, Spain in October 2015. His research area includes Digital Communication, Optical Communication, Wireless and Mobile Communication.

He has been appointed as a Member of Technical Program committee of UK Sim 2017 Conference to be held at Emannuel College, UK from 5-7 April 2017 and has been assigned 16 papers to review. He has also been invited to deliver a lecture at Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom during 15-19 May 2017.

He attended IEEE workshop on, “Smart-Technologies for Smarter living” from 18-19 November 2016 Technically Sponsored by IEEE section Bangalore at Hotel Vivanta by Taj Bangalore.

He has been appointed the member of Technical Committee of the International Conference on “Communication and Network Security 2017”, Tokyo ( 24-26 November 2017).

He also has been appointed the Reviewer of the IEEE GLOBECOM 2017, Singapore (4-8 December 2017). Prof. Gaur has 20+ years of teaching experience of various subjects for UG/PG in ECE, CSE and EEE. His area of interest includes Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Information Theory and Coding, Digital Logic Design, Electronic Devices and Circuits, IOT etc. He has submitted Ph.D. on Soft-Computing based Image Processing on May 2016. He has presented 10 National and 11 International conference papers. He has attended 15 STTP Program at IISC- Bangalore, IIT-Jodhpur, Institute of Technology- Nirma University, Ahmedabad, NITTTR- Chandigarh, AICTE New Delhi, and some other renowned Institution. He has conducted 21 trainings program for faculty (Inside/outside campus) as well as students inside and outside the JGI campus. He has taken expert sessions on Softcomputing, Signal Processing Toolbox, Image Processing, Communication Toolbox etc. in Matlab, DSK 6713, FPGA and CPLDs, Arduino, Raspberry Pi. He has taken 35 expert lectures  (outside JGI) and 75 expert lectures (inside JGI) and also guided more than 12 M. Tech thesis for ECE and CSE Department. He had been a resource person for many workshops at various government and private institutions. He has also published 22 papers in reputed journals 10 papers in International Conferences with good number of citation. He has also authored two books on "Electronic Devices and Circuits" and "Digital Logic Design".

Facial recognition and Finger print System

The project that solves the problem regarding the leakage of examination papers. It consists of one lock time strategy, GPS lock and biometric security like facial recognition and finger print. It will be protected by one time password.



Microbot with Virtual Assistant

The team proposes to develop a user-friendly Micro Bot using both Embedded and IoT Technologies. This Microbot has ability to express its emotions. The Bot also has ability to access personal information and store it in memory. This information may be asked anytime, whenever it is required. The Bot will inform the user about his daily schedule, weather condition, traffic status and result of algebraic calculations. These data can be acquired from cloud databases. A virtual machine will be used to fed data into it, which can be stored at local memory or on cloud.



Smart Agriculture Using grid Farming

Internet of Things (IOT) Technology has brought revolution to each field of common person’s life by making everything smart and intelligent. The objective of this project is to propose IOT based Smart Agriculture System assisting farmers in getting live data of temperature, soil moisture, water level, weather conditions, for efficient environment and crop monitoring which will enable them to increase their yield and also reduces their loss of crop due to natural calamities like heavy rain, attack of locust, etc.



Energy Management System

Exploiting the capabilities of microcontroller and machine learning the proposed system allows the user to monitor the energy consumption of a device and the device will shut down if the daily quota of the device gets exceeded.



Number Plate Detection and Smart Parking System

Based on the machine learning, artificial intelligence and Image Processing the proposed work automates the parking system. It employs LDR sensors, servo motors IR sensors.
